Changing nothing --- changes nothing!
How do I know?
Because I lived a life CONTENT in my own MISERY for nearly HALF of 2016.
You read that right, I was MISERABLE.
Exhaustion couldn't even begin to explain how I felt. My hair was falling out. I was GAINING weight despite exercising. I had zero energy after working out. My nutrition was all over the place because I didn't have a CLUE where I should start!
I had a feeling that EVERYTHING was related to my thyroid but my labs came back normal for nearly 6 months. I was told to exercise more & eat less. I was even questioned if I had possible signs of sleep apnea! 😐
For MONTHS I battled mentally with myself over changing doctors before I finally scheduled an appointment. But I almost cancelled the appointment because I was so worried that everything was all in my head!
Because I had been told for MONTHS that everything was NORMAL.
I had my labs rechecked.
My TSH had gone from 0.9 to 10.6 in a 1 month time period.
I had additional lab work done that diagnosed me with an autoimmune disease --- Hashimoto's thyroiditis.
And my new doctor helped me set up a plan of action to regain control my health!
The Plan Included:
Changing my thyroid medication entirely
Cutting out gluten and dairy
Continuing with my workouts
After 6 months ... my thyroid levels are finally back in the normal ranges.
I've completed 3 fitness/nutrition programs
My energy is back to almost normal
I'm more aware of what I'm putting in my body
I've lost 2 pants sizes & 10+ inches
I've regained confidence
All because I decided that it was TIME for a change.
I decided that I was NOT going to let my autoimmune disease define who I am.
Changes don't happen over night --- as you can see, it's taken me 6 months to make this progress. But progress is PROGRESS. No matter how small.
Make 2017 your year to { C H A N G E }
